Join us at the beautiful 17th century grade ll heritage-listed Bull hotel for an appetising Halal or Vegetarian full English & Continental buffet breakfast, following on to a presentation and informative workshop with award-winning Counsellor Myira Khan - who is also founder of the Muslim Counsellor and Psychotherapist Network (MCAPN)

This workshop will give an introduction and insight into:

*The importance of self care and how to build a self care plan

About Myira Khan:

Myira is an Accredited Counsellor and qualified Supervisor, working in her private practice. In 2017 Myira helped set-up the Leicester Centre for Psychodynamic Counselling, which offers counselling, supervision, counselling training and CPD workshops. Myira also delivers workshops nationally and is a regular invited speaker and facilitator at national conferences.


Myira is the Founder of the Muslim Counsellor and Psychotherapist Network (MCAPN). It connects Muslim practitioners, to develop best practice, offer support, CPD opportunities and raise the profile of Muslim professionals in mental health services. Due to Myira’s achievements, she was awarded the Mental Health Hero Award (2015) by then Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.


Myira holds the position as Trustee of the BACP. As a role-model, a Muslim BME counsellor, supervisor and trainer Myira represents the diversity within the counselling profession and promotes counselling to BME, Muslim and under-represented communities, to break down the stigma of mental health and therapy.
